Get these pitcher ranks a day in advance and grab waiver wire starters before your league does!
I’m down 7-5 in my first-round playoff matchup, and it’s been reduced to a battle of spot starters. It’s for these exact scenarios that these Daily SP Rankings have been created! Onto the notes and rankings:
- Clay Buchholz is back, and he’s number 1. In his first outing earlier this week after a two-month absence, Buchholz picked right back up where he left off — 5 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 6 K and the W on the road at Tampa Bay. He was on a restricted pitch count, but as he builds back strength that won’t be an issue, and he’ll be given a longer leash in Saturday’s start.
- Randall Delgado pitches at home against the pitiful Rockies without Carlos Gonzalez, and that makes him the day’s 6th-best option. That’s not a fluke or a mistake. Delgado has been sneakily solid this year, and he can provide very good returns in the right matchup.
- Dillon Gee at home against the Marlins seems undervalued at 15th. I’d be much more bullish on him.
